Do not walk on moss or step into raked sand gardens.<\/li>\n<li>Silence your cell phone and refrain from talking on it in the Garden.<\/li>\n<li>No food or beverages, aside from water.<\/li>\n<li>No smoking, including vaping.<\/li>\n<li>No pets, only trained service animals.<\/li>\n<li>Do not touch or attempt to feed the koi.<\/li>\n<li>No paints, inks, or other staining pigments.<\/li>\n<li>No portrait photography is allowed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Plan your day at the Garden<\/h2>\n<p>We encourage you to allow time to fully immerse yourself in the cultural experience. This includes the use of <a href=\"https:\/\/japanesegarden.org\/2023\/08\/08\/volunteer-generosity\/\">electric leaf blowers<\/a>. With a heavier volume of wet and fallen leaves in autumn, we often need to supplement with the use of gas leaf blowers. As stewards of the natural environment and in compliance with the county, our aim is to gradually decrease the use of gas-powered gardening tools each year.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Photography Policies<\/h2>\n<p>We are honored that professionals and amateurs alike find inspiration at Portland Japanese Garden.
