Rui Sasaki\u2019s site-specific installation, \u201cSubtle Intimacy:&nbsp;Here and There,\u201d lends itself readily to such fanciful readings, occupying the intersection of vegetal science and the provinces of poetry and philosophy\u2026The overall effect is dreamy, mesmerizing, and more than a little elegiac.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.visualartsource.com\/index.php?page=editorial&amp;pcID=17&amp;aID=5878\">Richard Speer, <em>Visual Art Source<\/em><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGlass artist Rui Sasaki takes into account place, history, people, plants and weather as she works in kiln-shaped glass with Bullseye Studio. She has sandwiched plants in glass to make luminescent tiles and plates that capture the ghostly image of the burned-out stems and leaves, plus the random bubbles where gases collected\u2026The artist\u2019s home is in Kanazawa, Japan, as gray and rainy as Portland, so expect some sympathetic shimmering from this self-confessed pluviophile (rain lover).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/preview-art.com\/highlight\/subtle-intimacy-here-and-there\/\">Joseph Gallivan, <em>Preview<\/em><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<em>Subtle Intimacy: Here and There<\/em> is a new Garden experience that sparkles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=CPiAQthdNdk\">Steve Redlin, KGW-TV<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRui Sasaki is described as a \u2018glass virtuoso\u2019 by <em>The New York Times<\/em>.
